Fredericktown is a village in Knox County, Ohio. The first settler was John Kerr who in 1807 bought and planned the town, and named it after his native Frederick, Maryland.

Growth was sluggish until the Sandusky, Mansfield, and Newark Railroad came through the village in 1853. A grain elevator, foundry, and other small trading businesses were built, helping to establish Fredericktown more firmly as the local business center

Around World War II a small airplane paneling factory was built and later reverted to furniture manufacturing. In the last half of the 20th century, a few light manufacturing operations and the largest privately owned general construction contractor in Ohio, Kokosing Construction were established.

Fredericktown is known for their f community parks and Nature Center; this includes 2 miles of trails throughout 57 acres of beautiful and scenic woods. Enjoy the baseball diamonds, picnic facilities and a swimming lake.

Fredericktown Entertainment and Restaurants:

Knox Lake is located about 1½ mile northeast of Fredericktown and can be accessed via State Route 95. The marina and main boat ramp are located on the lower section of the reservoir along Armentrout Road. Other boat ramps are located off County Road 5 in the upper section of the reservoir.

Kokosing Lake is just west of Fredericktown, Ohio. From Fredericktown, access to the dam is via State Route 13 north to Waterford Road. The dam is located on the right about two miles from the Waterford Rd. SR 13 Junction The Kokosing Lake launch ramp, campground, and picnic areas are also on the right just off Waterford Road about 1/2 mile past the dam.

Tomato Show Festival: Fredericktown pulls in thousands of people every year for the Tomato Show. It is a community wide street fair and features tomato products, needlework, photography and more. The festival also has two parades, rides and a craft show. Other events are the big wheel race, Little Miss Tomato contest, bathtub race a tomato toss!

Pizza Dock is an award winning Pizza Shop located at 92 Main Street in Fredericktown.

Taste of Country is a local deli sandwich shop located at 138 North Main Street. They serve fresh salads, sandwiches, baked goods and more!
